The Dear Listeners + Baardgroei + Vera Gulikers
The last Audioscoop before our summerstop is planned on June 28th. Expect two extremes that unwillingly share many things. The Dear Listeners provide a varied pallet of sounds emerged from their investigation into the deeper meaning of sound. The local Baardgroei, three musicians strongly linked with the Maastricht Landbouwbelang, will perform an improvisation sound experiment. How that's gonna turn out remains a surprise. Vera Gulikers will end the evening with a performance. We invite you to experience this together with us.
Voor donderdag 28 juni staat alweer de laatste Audioscoop voor onze zomerstop gepland. Verwacht twee uitersten die ongewild veel raakvlakken vertonen. The Dear Listeners zorgen voor een gevarieerd pallet aan klanken, voortgekomen uit hun onderzoek naar de diepere betekenis van geluid. Het lokale Baardgroei, een drietal sterk verbonden met het Maastrichtse Landbouwbelang, zal zich buigen over een improvisatie geluidsexperiment. Hoe dat uitpakt is vooralsnog een verassing. Vera Gulikers zal de avond afsluiten met een performance. Wij nodigen u uit dit samen met ons te beleven.

Robert Deters and Martin Luiten specialise in music that touches, suprises and make you think. Operating under the name 'the dear listeners', their musical output is an emotional and rich sound-art, based on interaction and physical presence. Essentially the group name underlines that importance of listening and dialogue when playing and performing their music, investigating what's hidden under the surface of sound - the areas inbetween pure sound, noise and melodic structures. Whether their soundsculptures are cinematic, tense or hypnotic, the results are always highly concentrated. Robert and Martin have past association with projects such as Vance orchestra, Machinefabriek, Girlfriends, Pick-up and Hitmachine. Labels they've released works with include Important, Low point, EE Tapes, Noctovision, Beta-lactam ring, Drone, and Noise Museum.
Robert Deters en Martin Luiten houden van muziek die ontroert en verrast. Samen maken ze als 'the dear listeners' kleurrijke geluidskunst waarbij de persoonlijke interactie en de fysieke beleving het uitgangspunt vormen. 'The dear listeners' onderzoeken wat er onder de oppervlakte van het geluid is te vinden. De ruimte tussen klank, noise en melodische structuur. De resultaten zijn geconcentreerde, onderhuidse, beeldende en hypnotiserende geluidssculpturen. Robert en Martin hebben met projecten als Vance orchestra, Machinefabriek, Girlfriends, Pick-up en Hitmachine werk uitgebracht op labels als Important, Low point, EE Tapes, Noctovision, Beta-lactam ring, Drone, and Noise Museum.

Three men each with a special passion. Marc Bokern sieves pure silver sand all his life. With great passion he throws the sand through the sieve and repeats this preferably some 20 times per pot of roughly half a liters of sand .., or is it kilo? The pot says litres. Marc's motto: "sand can never be clean enough." Tim Berkers collects stones, preferably as large as possible. Recently he bought a garage complex in South Korea for his collection to be carefully arranged. Tims motto: "life is like stone, rock hard". Kees Linsen eats a lot. He eats everything within his reach. Kees has no motto, but hunger. He likes sand and stone the most. Hence the collaboration with Marc and Tim which in the beginning was quite rough. Together they are Baardgroei.
Drie mannen met elk een bijzondere passie. Marc Bokern zeeft zijn hele leven al pure zilverzand. Met grote passie werpt hij het zand door de zeef en herhaalt dit liefst een keer of 20 per pot van pakweg een halve liter zand.., of is het kilo? De pot zegt liter. Marc's motto: "Zand kan nooit schoon genoeg zijn". Tim Berkers verzamelt stenen, het liefst zo groot mogenlijk. Onlangs kocht hij een garagecomplex in Zuid Korea om zijn collectie zorgvuldig gerangschikt in op te slaan. Tims motto: "Het leven is als steen, keihard". Kees Linsen eet heel veel. Van kleins af aan eet hij alles op wat voor zijn kiezen komt. Kees heeft geen motto, maar wel honger. Het allerlekkerst vindt hij zand en steen. Vandaar dat de samenwerking met Marc en Tim in het begin nogal stroef verliep. Samen zijn ze Baardgroei.

'Dromenvanger'
Captured dreams are made audible and visible during a performance with a dreamcatcher. The visible takes place in the movement and the audible arises while playing the 'instrument' which are the porcellaine pieces hanging in textiles.
Dromen die 's nachts worden gevangen worden hoorbaar en zichtbaar gemaakt tijdens een performance met een dromenvanger. Het zichtbare vindt plaats in de beweging en het bespelen van het 'instrument' en het hoorbare ontstaat door de porseleine stukken, hangend in textiel.
